Uconn Wins Big in the First Week: Hurley Still an Unhinged Psychopath and We All Love It!

Uconn took care of business against New Hampshire and Le Moyne last week, and both opponents served their purpose perfectly. Uconn is loaded again with talent and depth. While that can never be a problem, it sure makes Dan Hurley’s job more challenging in the early stages of the season.  The coaching staff has all the parts to play with, and they now have to figure out how they best fit together.  The pair of 30+ blowouts were expected but both teams exposed Uconn at times.  As a coach that’s exactly what you hope for when you schedule these games.  It's obvious that Uconn needs to clean up the turnovers and iron out the details on both sides of the ball; and apparently Coach Hurley feels the same.

@aburks41 attended a practice today and here’s a look at some of his observations

Wild! This dude wins back to back championships and doesn't give a shit! What have you done for me lately is all he thinks about!

This is the passion day in day out at Uconn practices.  It's intense, it's tough, it's relentless, but it's delivered to a group of equally insane players that know its purpose: make you improve! People say old school coaching is dead, but there's a few guys left that know how to push like old school coaches with a new school grace.  Dan Camble in Detroit, Jon and Jim Harbough, the Hurley family have all mastered this skill.

@aburks41  final thoughts summarize exactly why Hurley chose to stay at Uconn and told Lebron and the Lakers to kick rocks.

THIS IS THE NORTHEAST MENTALITY! Hurley embodies it perfectly and the entire region thrives off of it! Wouldn’t work in LA, but here in the basketball capital of the world: it's PERFECT!
