I’m Buying Blazer Stock.
I’m old and often distracted by my pending death, so I might have missed it.
Is there a place like “Wall Street” where I can invest money into an NBA team whose stock is about to launch?
Trump promised the golden ages, so I’m anticipating an influx of significant amounts cash soon. The last time the government handed out $2,000 Covid Checks I invested in $Penn and turned it into a new shed. This time it’s all going to the Portland Trail Blazers.
I’m an east coast guy, with no ties to Portland and prefer College Hoops to the NBA. The last time I thought about the Trail Blazers was watching best of Rashied Walace meltdowns on YouTube.
That all changed when the Blazers drafted Uconn legend and Connecticut born Donavan Clingan 7th overall in the 2024 Draft. I’ve been a fan of this kid since the 6th grade when I would bully him for not being able to pass the Push-Up test in PE class (I won’t tell you his actual score, but it’s the same number of games that Dam Lillard will play this season).
I started watching games last season and fell in love with the young core Joe Cornin put together. Camara, Clingan, Avdija are all under 25 and this trio bring a nightly defensive energy that high school coaches dream of.
The new extension for emerging super star Shaedon Sharpe, the added leadership of a reportedly very happy Jrue Holiday, and the mystery surrounding the potential of Chinses Joker Yang Hansen make this team a must follow.
Oh yah, they also have this guy Scoot that puts up highlights reel dunks on a nightly basis, and veteran Matisse Thybulle who creates chaos with his Andra Jackson Jr. like athleticism.
In an era where the 3 ball is king, Portland is bringing back hustle ball the Big Man (men). Expectations are high for this season that may end up in a playoff birth. They aren’t championship level just yet, but Lillard’s return next season could be the dawn of the Golden Era in Portland. Just keep Antifa away from the stadium.
